Answerhall, a Besson Digital product

Privacy policy

Answerhall answers questions from what an organization or store has already published. This page says plainly what it reads, what it keeps, and what it never touches. Last updated 11 October 2026.

Who we are

Answerhall is made and run by BESSONDIGITAL LLC, West Jordan, Utah. Questions about this policy go to pierre@bessondigital.com.

What Answerhall reads

Public pages only: the website, products, collections, policies, public calendars and the PDFs those pages link to. If a page needs a login, Answerhall does not see it. It never connects to a store's admin, orders, customers, student records, patient files, member lists or any internal system. On Shopify, the app asks for no admin permissions at all.

What happens when someone asks a question

The question is matched against the published pages and sent, with the matching passages, to a language model hosted on Microsoft Azure in the United States to write the answer. The model is instructed to answer only from those passages and to say when the answer is not there. Microsoft does not use this content to train models, and neither do we.

What is kept

  • The text of each question, whether it was answered, and which pages were used. This is what lets the organization see what people ask and what their site cannot answer yet.
  • A count of visits. For visits we store a hash that changes every day and cannot be turned back into a person.
  • Nothing else about the person asking: no name, email, account, IP address or cookie. Answerhall sets no cookies on the organization's site. The page remembers the last few questions in the browser tab only, so a follow-up makes sense, and that is cleared when the tab closes.

A person asking a question should not type personal details into it. If they do, the organization can ask us to delete that record and we will.

What the organization or merchant gives us

A contact name and email so we can reach them, and on Shopify the store's name, public address and the email on the account. We use these to run the service and to send the reports it produces. We do not sell or share them.

Where data lives and how long

Everything is stored on Microsoft Azure in the United States. The copy of a site's pages is refreshed on a schedule and replaced each time. When a customer leaves, the copy of their pages and their settings are deleted within 30 days. Question records are kept so the organization's reports keep working while they are a customer, and are deleted on request or when they leave.

Shopify stores

Answerhall receives Shopify's privacy webhooks. A customer data request returns nothing, because we hold nothing about a store's customers. A shop redaction removes the store's pages, settings and question records. Billing is handled entirely by Shopify; we never see card details.

Your rights

Ask us what we hold about your organization and we will show you. Ask us to delete it and we will, within 30 days. Write to pierre@bessondigital.com.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and customers are told by email if the change affects them.
